Offseason training - F.A.S.T

Submitted by DOC on Mon, 11/26/2012 - 2:41pm

We have an excellent opportunity this winter to provide sport-specific preseason training for the DYSA soccer players. One of the most positive aspects will be the fact that the sessions will be held on grass-like artificial turf in the Stillwater Foundation an indoor turf facility (at its new location at 144 Bodo Drive #3). This means the athletes can train on a realistic soccer surface in their cleats which will enhance adaptation to the footwear they will use all season and improve their touch on the ball with the same. And weather will not be a factor! The intention of the sessions is to combine and incorporate the functional / physical components of the sport with some technical aspects of soccer skills into one format. Specifically, we will focus on:

DATES: January 7th - March 7th 2013,  Mondays and Thursdays
TIME: 6-7 pm
or 7-8 pm
COST: $5 per session or $75 if pay for all 18 sessions in advance

The sessions will run from 6:00pm-7:00pm & 7:00pm-8:00pm on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning January 7th. There will be a total of 18 sessions with the final session running on March 7th.  They will be run and coordinated by Dalon Parker and will only cost $5/session/athlete or $75 if the athlete pays in advance. The cost is to offset the facility usage fees. These performance enhancing sessions are appropriate for ages 10 and up BUT WILL BE LIMITED TO 40 PLAYERS per a time slot in order to maximize safety and options. Payments can be made on site but a slot must be reserved in advance by e-mailing your request to dysa [at] durangosoccer [dot] com. All questions may also be directed to the same e-mail
